Happy New Year
lovely to see everyone back at Polly’s for 2011. We are at the Market Hall every Friday of January. Don’t forget we are now running a veg box scheme. Prepared by the Railway Farm Shop at Benhall, the weekly box supplies you with fresh and often local produce including free range eggs, veg and fruit. Large box is priced at ten pounds, the small at seven.

top review of last night
happy customer says (when asked about Saxmundham Christmas Fair): “Father Christmas gived me a present. I liked the sausage rolls. I Iiked the indoor play area and the teacup rides outside. It was good waiting for Father Christmas at the church. That’s all”

Fri 3 Dec Saxmundham Christmas Fair
and Polly’s will be there. Street stall vending? I should cocoa, cocoa. We will be in the safe, warm and familiar environment of the Market Hall. From 4pm, serving all the usual whilst excited people queue to meet the beardy man dressed in red. No Polly’s during the day, though, as the hall is needed to set-up Santa’s arrival.
we're going on a bear hunt...
we’re going to catch a big one! See you Friday. We’re not scared.
Saxmundham Library and the Bookstart bear will be coming to Polly’s on Friday for teddy-tastic fun. Due to arrive about 10.30am for cuddles and then some Bookstart activities follow. Gggrrrrreat.
Friday 19th November
No Polly’s this Friday - but please visit the Market Hall and take part in the Children’s Society coffee morning.

Polly’s today and a mini-Polly’s tomorrow. Carrot cake two days in a row. Yes. It is possible. We will be at the GreenerSax Winter Fayre tomorrow 13th November 10.30am-4pm. Entitled “Wake Up, Sleeping Beauty” the fayre promises to be inspiring as well as festive and fun. Have a go at a new craft. Get your bike fixed for FREE. that's it for October
see you all in November. Remember, remember the fifth of November. Carrot cake, coffee and plot(?). Well, you know what I mean. Take it easy.
it will be all go this Friday - our last for...
Lots to get our head around this week. Suzie is popping in to provide children’s haircuts. This will be the last Polly’s for October as the Market Hall is being used for the Saxmundham Arts Festival on 22nd and 29th of October. But we will be back for November. There is the loyalty card to get stamped and second-hand goodies to rummage through. And so many activities in the area for...
no Sara, but we coped
not sure how, maybe the ample helpings of carrot cake got us through. Lovely to see you all yesterday. Closing at 1pm didn’t impact on any of us too much, we thought. Polly’s will try it for three weeks and then have another think about our opening times. See you all soon. Take it easy.

our 13th day
unlucky for some…mainly those who missed out on the carrot cake. It sold like hot..cake today. But it is not all bad news because the loyalty card is launched and feedback is that Stannards have already given Pollycard holders some discount today. Next week (1 Oct) we are going to close at 1pm. So pop in early for something scrummy.
bringing home the bacon
this Friday (24 September) we are pleased to launch our loyalty card that not only awards your loyalty with a free children’s meal, but ALSO gives you a great 10% discount off your shopping at Stannards the Butchers. Pop in this Friday and find out more. p.s. Spanakopita is back from its hols, it says it hopes to catch up with you.
and it was buzzing
we had a fun time last Friday and more fun will be had this Friday too. A new ball pool will be popping-up. A new flavour of quiche will be on the savoury menu and there will be something new to sample in the cake department too. Maybe we will have some new faces around the place too. Very exciting. Spread the new-s.

lovely day for the race
What race? The human race, I was told by the Waitrose delivery man. So pleased to offer some respite from the weather for the campers of Carlton today. What a drizzly few days! Real back-to-school feelings. The whiff of a new pencil case and discomfort of a blistered heel is definitely in the offing. But each Friday whatever the weather we party-on at Polly’s. The kettle is boiling and the...
and are winners are
Jo and Ethan did well as raffle winners this week. After the crowds of the previous week, yesterday was pleasantly quieter so the raffle win was at least half a chocolate cake, some flapjacks and plenty of quiche. All delivered to their door. Not bad for a £1 especially when you have guests for the weekend. Thank Polly!
a slightly bonkers week
private party on Wednesday with a bouncy castle and 46 very excited children and then a very busy time yesterday with the regular café. We launched our very novel end of the day raffle where one lucky customer wins all the remaining stock of cakes, flapjacks, sausage rolls and quiche, basically all our lovely home-baked eats that are ideal to share over the weekend with your friends, family and...
we're growing
all things of the soil seemed to be the theme at Polly’s today. I sprouted a fly agaric on my cheek thanks to Catherine’s fine face painting. Free Pea recipe books were to be had. And Sara cleverly hid a vegatable in the chocolate cake. Whatever next? It was lovely celebrating Lauren’s 1st birthday at Polly’s today. And great to have Suzi back doing her children’s...

Harvey's review (aged 2 and a bit)
“Go to cafe, go to cafe, lots and lots of toys, lots and lots of people”
chop chop
it was haircut-a-go-go yesterday at Polly’s and it went so well that we are now running children’s haircutting as a regular event at Polly’s so ifyou missed out this week, then pop down next Friday and get your children’s haircut whilst you eat carrot cake, catch up with friends, drink coffee…it all sounds too good to be true, doesn’t it? Thank Polly!
it was very busy yesterday, wasn't it?
with schools breaking up all over the place next week we hope to see some older children at Polly’s next Friday. Don’t forget we should have Susie Brewer in the house offering children’s haircuts at £5 a chop. Do bring your children along if an over long fringe is causing them to trip up.
something fishy tomorrow at Polly's
we have a fish story and sea song time bobbing along tomorrow from 10.30am. No need for flippers, snorkels or mermaid outfits, just remember that Polly’s is the plaice to be, so get those skates on.
lovely to see new faces
again all went well as Polly’s fed and watered the hot and hungry of Saxmundham. We are getting to see some regular faces and some new faces too each week. Brilliant. The first edition of the Polly newsletter “Spill the Beans” seemed to raise a smile. Sorry somebody was separated from their orange dummy. It was located and will be behind the counter next week. Ready for action....
possibly the coolest place in Sax today
It was all very chilled again at Polly’s today and certainly a few needed degrees cooler than the street outside. Thanks to the wonderful gate designed, made and fitted by Michael Lewis of Great Glemham, we were able to enjoy a cool breeze flowing through the Market Hall and keep our children safely contained within. And wasn’t Jane from Saxmundham library wonderful with her song and...
